Episode 3: The Lightning-Struck Tree

Sometimes the tree that looks the most damaged is the one that teaches us the most about resilience.

I was the different one in the orchard. The lonely tree. But even after the storm, I learned I could continue to stand inspite of.

I remember one tree that stood out from all the others.

Lightning had struck it.

Its branches were scarred. It didn't look like the other trees in the orchard, yet somehow it was still standing.

As a little girl, I didn't realize why I was drawn to that tree. Years later I understood.

I saw myself.

Life had left its marks on me too. Abuse, fear, shame, and survival had damaged me. I believed the damage had defined my future.

But God began to teach me something about that tree.

Being struck doesn't mean you're finished.

Sometimes the deepest wounds become the strongest testimony.

The tree was still standing.

and by the grace of God...So was I.
